7 Mistakes Virtual Assistants Make with Ecommerce

Tuesday, February 23rd, 2010

Tina Forsyth and I have had the priveledge of speaking to hundreds of business owners over the last several years. These discussions have lead to critical points of informaton we’ve shared with virtual support professionals to help them provide exactly the kind of support business owners are really looking for from them.

One of the most critical components of an online based business is ECOMMERCE and it’s one of the areas that many business owners have shared concern about.   It’s absolutely essential that Virtual Assistants who work with online businesses fully understand and can implement various strategies and technology to support the ecommerce side of the business.

Unfortunately there are several key areas in the ecommerce area that are being done incorrectly and serious mistakes are being made. As a result, business owners are missing out on potential revenue, clients and overall business growth.

How do you avoid this?  How do you know if you’re making these mistakes?

Join us on Tuesday, March 2nd at 12pm Pacific (3pm Eastern) for a FREE call and learn whether you’re making the top “7 Mistakes Virtual Assistants Make In Ecommerce”.   We’re going to share what business owners are telling us, as well as other mistakes we see are being made over and over again.

The time or date not work for you?  No problem, register anyways as we’ll be sending the mp3recording link out after the live call.

Two Amazing Calls Coming Up This Month for Virtual Assistants

Thursday, January 7th, 2010

As you know, one of our favourite things to do is hop on a call with all of you and share/discuss all the great things about working virtually.   In turn, we hope a few things will impact you significantly enough to where you’ll implement and make positive changes for you and your business.

So for January, we’re hosting not one, but TWO fr’ee calls that I’m pretty sure you’ll be interested in:

Call #1
7 Publicity Mistakes Virtual Assistants Make
Tuesday, January 19th at 1pm Eastern / 10am Pacific
There are few Virtual Assistants that specialize as a Publicity Expert … which is unfortunate because every online based business owner out there wishes they could generate more publicity for their business.

It’s not enough to dabble in a few pieces here and there that you get from the experts out there … generating publicity requires a strategy and realistically, a VA who has received the right kind of training, CAN help their client implement the pieces to create a great plan and therefore  generate publicity.

Now, none of us at VirtuallySuccessful.com are publicity specialists, and so we’ve asked Diana Ennen, Publicity Expert, to join us for a f’ree call on Tuesday, January 19th  at 1pm Eastern / 10am Pacific to share the 7 Mistakes Virtual Assistants are Making when it comes to building publicity.  This information is relevant to your own business as well as your clients so please do make a point to attend.

To make this even more fun, we encourage you to share your own questions or strategies you have used to support your clients in generating publicity.

Register for your spot in the form below and please do post your comments in the section at the bottom of the page.

Publicity Specialist Training — Specifically Designed for Virtual Assistants

Thursday, January 7th, 2010

“Specializing” is the hot word when it comes to the Virtual Assistant industry.
For the last 2 years we’ve seen the trend of VAs specializing in various areas -
social media, blog design and customization, podcasting and video specialist -
just to name a few.

What if I told you that online based business owners everywhere are screaming to
find Virtual Assistants who specialize as Publicity Specialists?

It’s true … we talk to business owners all the time and their number one goal
is to build their presence and be regarded as an expert in their own specialty.

Sadly, other than the expensive public relations firms out there …. there is
no one to help them.We want to change this.  We want to help Virtual Assistants who have an
interest in specializing in this area, learn the right skills, strategies and
secrets and then confidently provide these skills their clients (while demanding
higher rates) to support them in generating publicity.

Interested?

By taking this training, you would be one of the very few Virtual Assistants
that specialize in this area.  You’d be in demand, have clients knocking on
your door non stop and comfortably set your price high to demonstrate your
expertise.

The program starts Monday, January 25th and Publicity Expert Diana Ennen will be
leading the training.  Just to show you what’s possible … here’s just a
sampling of the publications that have featured Diana …. would you like to
generate the same kind of attention?

7 Publicity Mistakes Virtual Assistants Make

Tuesday, January 5th, 2010

Do you wish you knew more about how to generate publicity — both for yourself and your clients.

Have you dabbled in it here and there — submitting the odd article or press release, with no serious strategy or model?

Publicity is a critical piece to building a business, yet it’s something that often does not receive the quality attention it needs.  Why?  Because we simply don’t know enough about how to do it properly.  We may hear about a few “must do” strategies from an online expert and we take a stab at implementing the strategy … but really we don’t know what we’re doing.

Sadly most business owners will seek out the expertise of an expensive Public Relations firm to help them …. only to spend thousands of dollars with little return.

Virtual Assistants CAN help online based business owners build publicity …. IF they know their stuff and know it well.  It’s not enough to just submit articles once in a while. That’s one mistake …

To support both Virtual Assistants and their clients, the team at VirtuallySuccessful.com has invited Publicity Specialist Diana Ennen to join us for a FREE call to share the “Top 7 Publicity Mistakes Virtual Assistants Make“.

Here are the details:

Date:  Tuesday, January 19th, 2010
Time:  1pm Eastern / 10am Pacific
Duration:  60 minutes

The Future of Virtual Assistance … The Multi-VA Business Model

Wednesday, October 28th, 2009

2009 has seen an incredible number of solo-VA businesses turn into multi-VA businesses.
This can only mean one thing — the VA industry is booming, getting more recognition (that it deserves) and more business owners are seeking the help of a virtual professional.

As a solo-VA business, you may reach the ‘bursting point’ where you’re forced to make a tough decision in order to manage your workload and business … terminate client relationships or bring someone on board to assist you.

Have you thought about creating a multi-VA business?

We’re calling Virtual Assistants to join us on November 18th at 10am Pacific / 1pm Eastern  for an open discussion and group brainstorming session on the “Multi-VA Business Model”

What are the pros of creating a multi-VA business?  What are the cons?  For some it’s an obvious step in the
growth of their business.  For others, they have no idea what’s really involved.    Is it right for you?

Listen in below to the call we had on this topic.

How to Know Who NOT To Hire — Hot Skills Business Building Series

Thursday, October 1st, 2009

The goal for Virtual Assistants is to build a great business, with great clients and great revenue — right?

In some cases, we’re so focussed on attracting new clients and supporting them that we don’t consider that there are clients we should NOT be hiring.

For years, the team here at VirtuallySuccessful.com has spoken with Virtual Assistants about how to attract great clients — essentially, how to decide on a target market and pick the ideal client you would like to work with. It’s our own business so we should be working with the people we love to work with …. right?

Unfortunately so many of us in this great community are choosing to work with the wrong clients … clients who make us miserable, don’t pay the bills, demand too much and ultimately exhaust us.

Knowing how to recognize these ‘wrong’ clients is almost more

important than knowing how to find the right clients!

We want to help Virtual Assistants work with the best clients out there - ones that are respectful, pay their bills, appreciate and ultimately, treat you like a valued member of the team. And to be able to say ‘no thanks’ to the rest.

So how do you know which clients should you NOT hire?

Join Tina and Cindy on Thursday, October 8th as they share:

  • What YOU should know about your potential client before you even speak with them
  • 5 questions your prospective client must have the answer to before you even consider working with them
  • 3 questions you need to ask yourself before you accept a new client
  • The top 5 warning flags to watch out for when considering a new client

Sign up for this 60 minute session, for only $27 and you will receive:

  • Access to the live call
  • Notes
  • An MP3 recording of the call

>>Reserve Your Spot

Stop working with the clients who really don’t deserve you and start working with the clients who will respect you, cherish you and appreciate you.

A Closed Door for Us = More Clients for You!

Thursday, August 27th, 2009

As you may know, earlier this year we made some changes to our virtual assistant service at MultipleStreamsTeam.com. Since 2005 we had been providing top-notch support services to business owners creating their own multiple streams based business, as based on the model originally taught by Andrea J. Lee in her book Multiple Streams of Coaching Income.

After taking a look at the changes in the marketplace and how we ourselves could do our best work in this industry, this past spring we decided to close the Multiple Streams Team in order to be able to pursue other projects (such as this very ezine!)

But the thing is - after years of talking about the Multiple Streams Team and promoting it via various channels and partners, we still have LOTS of traffic coming to this site - business owners looking for help - and since we are no longer offering these services ourselves all of this traffic is essentially going to waste.

Now you know us… when we see an opportunity like this we have to ask ourselves -

“What can we do here to connect these business owners the help they need?”

The answer was quite simple really…

We’ve decided to revise the MultipleStreamsTeam.com site and are in the process of updating it to become a simple ‘job posting’ system. We are creating a new request for proposal (RFP) system for business owners to post their needs, which we will then be sent out to our list of fabulous VAs who are looking for clients.

Care to join our list and get sent real hiring
opportunities as they arise?

This is a free service for both business owners and virtual assistants - there is no cost to join. We simply want to provide a way to connect you with the business owners that are coming to the site looking for support.

>> Click here to join the VA job notification list… and spread the word to other VAs who may want to join.

Note that as of the time of sending you won’t see these changes reflected yet on the homepage at www.multiplestreamsteam.com. We are working on revising the site and expect to officially ‘go live’ next week… but in the meantime we wanted to give you a sneak peek and the opportunity to get on the VA list early.

Multiple Streams of Income for Virtual Assistants?

Friday, August 7th, 2009

The Future of Virtual Assistance Call #3 - Multiple Streams of Income for Virtual Assistants?

Have you ever wondered if you could make money beyond the 1-1 model of working with your clients?

We’re calling all Virtual Assistants to join us on Tuesday, August 25th at 11am Pacific (2pm Eastern) for an open discussion and group brainstorming session on “Multiple Streams of Income for Virtual Assistants”.

While it’s true that the 1-1 model of working for individual clients are often the main stream of revenue for Virtual Assistants, it doesn’t have to be the only way. Join us and share your thoughts, feedback, insight and ideas on how Virtual Assistants can generate more revenue for their business outside of this model.

As always, we’re looking forward to a lively discussion!
